Shortbread Biscuits Recipe!

Seeing as it's Burns Night in Scotland tomorrow, I wanted to share a recipe for a traditionally Scottish biscuit - shortbread! These are about the easiest thing to bake ever, so they're good if you need to make something quick.

Ingredients:
  • 125g butter
  • 55g caster sugar
  • 180g plain flour
Instructions:
  1. Preheat the oven to 190C.
  2. Grease and line two baking trays.
  3. Mix the butter and the sugar together.
  4. Add the flour until it comes together into a smooth paste. If it seems too dry, you can add a teaspoon of milk.
  5. Roll it into the desired thickness.
  6. Cut it into shapes using a cutter.
  7. I've just done circles, but you can use
whatever shape of cutter you like
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes. Place on a cooling rack when done.

Christmas Spice Biscuits!

Here’s my recipe for Christmas spice biscuits. My recipe is based on a German sort called
Lebkuchen. You may know these from the brightly-iced hearts that get sold from stalls sometimes, but the traditional version from Nuremburg is quite different, too. This recipe produced biscuits which are not dissimilar in texture from the ones you can buy from the stalls!
