My review policy:
- I don't lie. If I didn't like a book or series, I will state that outright, and mention why I didn't. However, I like to mention things I did enjoy, and can find things I like in most books, even those I'm not so keen on.
- I don't use a numerical system, the reasons why I discussed here! Succinctly put, I find them misleading, and hard to narrow my thoughts down to a number.
- Instead, what I tend to do is mention a recommendation, a group I think will enjoy this book. This isn't me saying that only these people will enjoy this book, but that these people especially might enjoy this book. I also never say that women/men will like this book, or narrow it down to a specific age. Instead, I mention that fans of romance/fantasy, etc. genre will enjoy this book. Books transcend ages, and can be enjoyed by everyone regardless of genre. I may at times mention if books are aimed at a particular age, however.
- If books are part of a series, I will generally try and review the series as a whole, rather then it's individual parts. The reason being is that I feel you can't tell everything about a series from the first book in it. The exception may be if the series isn't finished, especially if only the first book is out.
- I'll always finish a book before writing a review of it, because you never know when a twist might come that completely shakes the foundations of the story.
- I try not to spoil! Sometimes, you just have to talk about a twist in a book that was so amazing. If that's the case, I will either white-out the twist, or put it under a jump cut. I'll always warn inside the review if a spoiler is coming up, too.
- I love to read diverse books! One of the reasons I read is to find out more about the world. I don't want to always read about experiences that are similar to mine. Although sometimes that's nice, too!
